Biography and Referrals
Amy's
love for science, beauty, and Mexico began at an early age
so the opening of a hacienda style spa in her home town came
as no surprise. Amy Snider, a licensed esthetician opened
Spa Cascada in August 2005, in the heart of downtown Saratoga
Springs, New York.
Inspired
by Mexico, where she lived for two years in Cabo San Lucas,
it changed her perspective on life and her career.
In
1993, she embarked south to the University of Arkansas in
Fayetteville to compete in collegiate athletics. There she
studied Kinesiology with focus on athletic training. She worked
with collegiate and professional athletes, specializing in
sports massage.
"My
goal was to combine results oriented skin care with a relaxing
spa environment."
As
a registered dental hygienist educated at Hudson Valley, Amy
worked as a health professional, then at a spa, and finally
decided it was time to create a space of her own allowing
others to rehydrate their spirit.
"When
someone is in my spa, paying for an hour of treatment, I am
with the client the entire time. While the client is masking,
I don't leave the room. I stay and perform a scalp massage.
I make sure they are being pampered every minute of that hour."
The
word "Cascada" is Spanish for waterfall or cascade
and is used to inspire feelings of relaxation. In Cabo San
Lucas she worked at a resort and spa enriching her love for
the culture and clarifying ideas for the future. Spa Cascada
is a tropically inspired space that enables clients to feel
comfortable during treatment and feel better about themselves
when they leave. A certified Reiki practitioner takes spiritual
means from the desert of Baja to the springs of Saratoga.
A place where men and women can relax and rejuvenate through
a variety of spa services.
Amy
has advanced training in massage, makeup design, aroma therapy
and advanced face and body treatments. Continually attending
conferences and events around the country to bring the latest
treatments, trends, and products to her own area. Amy uses
a cosmetcuetical product line that works to postpone the aging
process, nourish the skin and clear up skin conditions. Treatments
are personalized and results oriented.
In
2004, Amy produced make-up design for a European fashion designer
to show during NYC Olympus Fashion Week. She has brought services
to the area that are on the pulse of modernity with the use
of eyelash extensions and sunless tanning.
